Mortgage Tax/Certification

Mortgage tax is calculated by dividing the amount of the mortgage by $100 (or part), then multiplying that by a rate determined by the term of the mortgage, plus a $5.00 Certification Fee.

Mortgage tax rates for Oklahoma
The following rates apply to each $100.00, or any fractional part thereof, of the mortgage amount:
If the term of the mortgage is 5 years or more
If the term of the mortgage is 4 years and less than 5 years
If the term of the mortgage is 3 years and less than 4 years
If the term of the mortgage is 2 years and less than 3 years
If the term of the mortgage is less than 2 years
If the amount of the mortgage is less than $100.00 		10 cents

Document Filing Fees

Recording the first page of deeds, mortgages or other real estate instruments is $8.00. Recording each additional page to all real estate instruments is $2.00. Preservation and Maintenance Fee on every instrument is $5.00.
