Adams Abstract, located in Leflore County, has something to be proud of and has bragging rights in this edition of The TitleGram.
It seems that sometime last year, management at the company set a goal for the abstractors of a 24 hour turn around time for processing orders. According to Sue Ann Loggains, when she set the goal, their turn around time was a constant 15 work days at that time.
"When I did so, everyone in the office looked at me as if I was crazy and some actually commented that I WAS crazy," Loggains said. "But, every once in awhile, I would ask how they were doing and mention the 24 hour turn around time again. We worked down from 15 working days to seven working days. That time frame has been a constant for awhile, until recently. For the last few months, we went down to under a week."
Then, recently, abstractors Sheryl Maggard, Shelly Caldwell, Gina Rogers, Sara Dyer and Mavis Lawless came to Loggains and informed her that they had reached the goal. These hard working and dedicated abstractors, with a combined work experience of 68 years, reorganized the way they processed orders. In addition, they began a constant input of older images into their software. The staff took a simple statement, along with the desire to please and serve the people of Leflore County and worked diligently daily to complete the task that is never ending. Adams Abstract can proudly say that they have reached the 24 hour goal.
As one of the staff recently said, "Some of you may be scoffing and saying, 'yeah, but how many orders does little old Poteau, Leflore County have a month?' Well, while we are by no means considered large, we may do more than you think. For the month of June, our number of orders was 340. That number is total orders: all gaps, title reports, extension, recertifications and bases. This turnaround time includes everything. Isn't that great?"
The Adams Abstract abstractors are not sure how long they can keep this up, but they are hoping that the 24 hour turnaround becomes the norm, rather than the exception. Hopefully, this positive report gives us all encouragement. Congratulations on a job well done.
