Mark Your Calendars For Upcoming Regional Meetings

OLTA is again pleased to announce the upcoming dates for the OLTA Regional Meetings. As you may recall, OLTA has sponsored these meetings across our state in the past two years in an effort to reach out to our membership, communicate new information and learn about issues of concern that our members might want to discuss. Each meeting will include dinner followed by an informal discussion lead by OLTA Board members. Exact meeting locations are to be determined. Watch for your registration materials in the mail or on the OLTA website in the coming weeks.

September 12, 2006: "Basic Title Insurance School" to be held at Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City.

October 18, 2006: "Basic Closing and Escrow" plus an advanced class at Tulsa Technology Center in Tulsa.

SUMMER MEETING CONTINUING EDUCATION OFFERED
On Friday afternoon, July 14, OLTA will begin the Summer Meeting by offering four hours of continuing education class, pending approval by the Oklahoma Department of Insurance, entitled, "Title Stuff ­ Things Your Parents Didn't Tell You Because They Never Dreamed You'd End Up Here."

This class will include new forms from ALTA and what they are good for, bad things you might see bad people trying to do, a complete overview of two recent fraud cases, the importance of protecting other people's money and concluding with frequently asked questions about general underwriting. Class presenters include industry experts Jim Gosdin, Stephen Reid, Arlene Phillips and Edward Hellewell.
