President's Message (2006-2007)

Dear OLTA Members

Wow — Another year has come and gone! I am truly honored to serve as President of your Association. This is something I have often dreamed about and I don't take this position lightly.

I started my career in this industry right out of high school. I wondered at the time what I had done to deserve such punishment and hoped that the job would just get me through college. Well, as it turned out, I grew to love what I did and quickly learned my way up the ladder. This business does get in your blood!

We have a lot of work ahead of us. This last year was spent working on legislation that would give the State Auditor and Inspector the power they need to effectively regulate our industry. By the time you get this TitleGram, we will know the outcome of HB 3009. This is my livelihood as well as yours, and no matter what the outcome of the legislation, I will continue to do my part in looking out for our industry. I would urge you to do your part by continuing grass roots efforts, contributing to Okie-TiPAC and just being active in your Association. You have a great Board and they have all dedicated their time and knowledge to serving the needs of this membership. If you have any ideas or concerns, please feel free to contact any one of us.

My only request to each and every one of you is that we stand united as a team and fight together or we all stand to lose in the long run. I look forward to seeing you at Summer Meeting!
